Shubham Gill is recovering from his neck injury and will most likely miss the second test at Guwahati. All-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy is likely to join the team to replace him. Rishabh Pant will lead the team in the absence of the captain. However, Gill will be travelling with the team to Guwahati.

Revised Time Table For The Second Test At Guwahati

The second test at Guwahati will start early at 9 AM, and the tea break will be taken from 11 AM to 11.20 AM instead of lunch. Lunch time is scheduled from 1.20 PM to 2 PM, and the post-lunch session will be from 2 PM to 4 PM. This will be the first time in India that a test match will have a tea break first instead of lunch. Guwahati is in the eastern part of India, where sunlight fades early in the evening.

After the loss at Eden Gardens, coach Gautam Gambhir said that the team can perform on any pitch and he is confident for the second test at Guwahati. He said the team faced criticism because they lost the match, and criticism wouldn’t exist if the team had won.
