Just two days before the curtain rises on the oldest and most prestigious tennis tournament, Novak Djokovic said this could be his ‘last dance’ at Wimbledon. The 38-year-old legend has 24 singles Grand Slam titles to his name and was very close to his 25th title at the French Open recently, where he lost in the semi-finals.

Djokovic’s 20th Appearance At Wimbledon

2025 marks Djokovic’s 20th appearance at Wimbledon, with seven titles to his name, and with one more, he will have eight singles titles to his name. Only Roger Federer has eight singles titles (men) to his name in the history of Wimbledon. He was quoted as saying, “It’s great to be back. I love Wimbledon. I’ve always loved it. I think in the last six editions, I had six finals. For one reason or several reasons, playing very well in Wimbledon, maybe the most consistently successful Grand Slam for me in the last 10 years.”

Novak Djokovic’s First Match In Record-High Temperatures

The Serbian star plays his first match against Alexandre Muller of France on 1st July. The opening day, 30th June, was the hottest opening day of the tournament in 147 years. With temperatures expected to be around 33 to 34 degrees Celsius on 1st July, it will be a really hot affair for the players. The temperatures are soaring high, and the “heat rule” policy at Wimbledon can be used by players, which allows them to request a 10-minute break and leave the court if the temperature is 30.1 degrees Celsius or above.

Djokovic is missing his arch rival Nadal, who retired last year, and he always keeps mentioning that he is deeply affected by Nadal’s retirement. We hope Djokovic gives his best performance at Wimbledon and reaches the milestone.
