Rafael Nadal retired from professional tennis in November 2024 at the age of 38 after a glorious career of 23 years as a professional tennis player. The Spaniard legend is a clay court specialist with an outstanding record of 14 French Open titles.
Rafael Nadal started playing tennis at the very young age of 4 and became a professional tennis player at 15. He had a total of 22 Grand Slam titles to his name and 2 Olympic Gold Medals to his credit. He played professional tennis for 23 years with glorious records to his name.
Final Walk at Roland Garros
He entered Roland Garros this afternoon to a packed house of 15,000 fans who were wearing orange “Mercy Rafa” T-shirts, and they greeted Nadal with a standing ovation. The King of Clay appeared for the last time at the Roland Garros.
Nadal was surprised by Andy Murray, Roger Federer, and Novak Djokovic, who joined him during the farewell. He was very emotional at the farewell and thanked his fans, friends, family, and co-players for being a part of his journey. He also thanked his coach and uncle, Tony Nadal, his coach since his early days. The Spanish legend even thanked Paris and France for making him feel at home and treating him like a Frenchman.
A Record That May Never Be Broken
Nadal has an extraordinary record at the French Open, which is 112-4. It looks like a dream record for any player at any tournament. He has taken the game of tennis to the next level with his performances. His power-packed performance will always be marked in the memories of his fans.
He has not touched the tennis racket since he retired, but he will definitely do so again for exhibition matches or charity purposes. Now, he is enjoying his time outside the court with his friends and family. He said he is into competitive sports, but this time it’s golf. He said he enjoys playing golf and winning, too. He is spending his time with his wife and 2-year-old son. Nadal is also looking after his hotel company, tennis academy, nutrition supplement business, and, of course, the charitable foundation.
Nadal said he is not missing the court and is enjoying the new phase of his life. He said that with his injuries, his body is not allowing him to be on the court. Nadal will always be remembered as a great player and a great competitor. We wish him the best of luck for whatever he does in the future.
