
Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell bids adieu to one-day cricket on the 2nd of June 2025 but he will play in T20’s. The 36-year-old right-hander did not want to let down his side in ODI’s.
Maxwell scored his runs in a flamboyant style. He began playing in 2012 and played in 149 ODIs, scoring 3990 runs at an average of 33.81 with 77 useful wickets as well as an off-spinner. He is known as one of the best fielders of all time and has taken 91 catches in ODIs. Also, he has many memorable knocks to his credit with one double hundred, three hundred, and twenty-three fifties. He played at a strike rate of 126.77, which is considered a match-winning strike rate.
IPL Contributions and Retirement Decision
Maxwell appeared in 141 matches with 2819 with the best score of 95 and 18 fifties in the IPL. He was good with the ball and has 41 dismissals to his name. His injuries did not allow him to play the current IPL. Injuries have made him irregular in the Australian team for a couple of years.
A Lasting Legacy in ODI Cricket
Maxwell played ODIs for 13 years and always gave his 100 percent to the team in Australia. He performed well for all his team that he played in the IPL. He is a handy versatile player.
