Rajnikant’s much-awaited movie Coolie is all set to release on 14 August worldwide. It’s a Pan-India film with Nagarjuna, Shruti Hassan in the supporting cast and Aamir Khan in a cameo. The film will be released in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi.
Hritik Roshan’s War 2 is also getting released on the same day, with Junior NTR and Kiara Advani also playing key roles in the movie. War 2 will be released in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil. Junior NTR is a big name down south, and the film has created a lot of buzz in the south as well as the Hindi belt.
About Coolie And War 2
Coolie is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, and the film is produced by Kalanithi Maran under Sun Pictures. The story is about Deva, played by Rajnikant, who is an ageing gold smuggler trying to reunite his old gang with the help of mysterious technology hidden in vintage watches. The plot that follows has many twists and turns. The action thriller promises to be a good entertainer for everyone.
War 2 is directed by Ayan Mukherjee and produced by Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj Films. Kabir, played by Hritik Roshan, who is a secret agent, is accused of betraying the country. His former batchmate, Agent Vikram, played by Junior NTR, is given the responsibility of hunting him down.
Advance Booking
Advance Booking of both the movies is open. Coolie is doing well in advance bookings, and War 2 is slowly gaining momentum. According to reports Coolie’s booking stands at Rs. 14.25 Crores with block seats earning Rs. 20.41 Crores. Approximately 6 lakh tickets have been sold for Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi versions of the film.
War 2 has earned Rs. 2.08 Crores in advance booking and block seats earnings Rs. 5.08 Crores. Hritik’s movie has sold around 57000 tickets in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil. Advance booking clearly shows that Coolie has an edge over War 2, but if the film is good, it will definitely gain momentum.
Both the films have the advantage of a long weekend as they are releasing on Thursday, Friday is Independence Day, Saturday is Janmasthmi, and Sunday is a regular holiday. As die-hard Indian movie fans, we hope both the films do well at the box office, especially since this year has been an average year for the Indian film industry. With Rajni sir’s huge fan following and Hritik’s charm, we hope both the films break records at the box office.
