I gave ‘Two Much’ hosted by Kajol and Twinkle a shot, here is my review. It’s two actresses trying to stay relevant by recreating something that’s been around for decades. The problem is, the show isn’t funny or fresh.

Two Much Noise, Too Little Substance
The format of the show doesn’t hold up either. The transitions between segments feel incomplete and awkward. In the first segment, they serve food to the guests but keep talking over them, leaving no time to eat. Then, the guests are hurried into answering the most basic questions.
Aamir Khan used to preach being a woke feminist in his show ‘Satyamev Jayate’, which first aired in 2012. And now he’s justifying working with younger women by making a joke about ‘how filmmaking isn’t real’ and ‘didn’t I look the same age as Bebo’. And none of us expected Salman Khan to be an advocate for feminism, so his mansplaining has the same amount of substance as his singing.

A Talk Show That Talks Over Itself
With younger stars, the conversation in the show feels forced. It’s like attending a family function while being seated at the table with 60-year-olds. Throughout the episode, Twinkle’s outdated one-liners don’t land, and Kajol also seems uneasy during certain segments. During the game ‘Red Light, Green Light’, when asked if actors work harder than most 9-to-5 employees, Kajol was the only one who agreed. When Alia quickly disagreed by adding how privileged actors are, she didn’t let her speak. It seemed like she was just yelling at anyone with a different opinion than hers.
They’re really only letting senior actors talk. With younger actors, it’s essentially asking questions, hearing the first five words and cutting them off. At one point, they even tried bullying Jhanvi Kapoor into agreeing that physical cheating is okay as long as it’s not emotional. Why would they push this agenda onto a younger generation unprompted?
The questions they asked were ones I’ve heard a million times, given their whole premise is ‘asking questions that aren’t asked’. Being a host requires a composed aura, which they failed to portray. On paper, the idea of two famous female celebrities hosting a talk show seems noble. The execution, however, was extremely underwhelming. There is not a single ‘wow’ factor, nor is there an element that makes the audience engage.
That’s all for my review of ‘Two much with Kajol and Twinkle’. What did you think of the show?
