Border 2 Release Date, Starcast, Story, Advance Booking, OTT Release

The eagerly awaited movie ‘Border 2’ will be released on 23rd January 2026. The movie is a sequel to J.P. Dutta’s classic Border. With a huge star cast and a long weekend advantage, the film hopes to do well at the box office.

Cast And Crew

Border 2 stars Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, Ahan Shetty, Mona Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Medha Rana, Anya Singh, Anurag Arora, Guneet Sandhu, and Sanjiv Chopra in key roles. Meanwhile, the real surprise comes with Akshaye Khanna, Suneil Shetty, and Sudesh Berry appearing in cameo roles. Border 2 is produced by J.P.Dutta, Nidhi Dutta, Bhusan Kumar and Krishan Kumar. The film is directed by Anurag Singh and has music by Anu Malik and Mithoon.

Story

The story of Border 2 revolves around the 1971 India-Pakistan War. The war drama is the spiritual sequel of the 1997 blockbuster ‘Border’. The story goes into details of the war not only from the army’s perspective but also from the air force and navy’s perspective.

Advance Booking

The booking for Border 2 started on 19th January, and till Tuesday, 1.10 lakh tickets have been sold in India. The film will release on more than 5500 screens all over India. The booking is showing a lot of promise. And trade experts are expecting the first day collections between 35 and 40 Crores. 

At the same time, leading online booking platforms like BookMyShow and Paytm Movies are getting good bookings for the first day of the movie. Even single-screen theatres are showing great advance bookings all over India.

OTT Release

OTT Release date and platform of Border 2 have not announced, but you can watch the 1997 classic Border on YouTube and Amazon Prime Video. 

Border 2 has a big star cast and great music. The movie has created buzz in the movie circuit, and it has the advantage of a long weekend. But the real test of the movie will start on the 27th of January, and it will be interesting to see how it fares on weekdays.
