Matches have been held here since 1882 and it can hold 25000 people. The first match was played here more than 100 years ago. India played here for the first time in 1967.
India has played eight Test matches here and lost seven and one match was drawn. India is yet to win a test here. India’s record has just been below par at this venue and they have been all out on 15 out of 16 occasions. Only in 1986 did they reached a fourth innings score of 174 for 5.
On the contrary, England has a reasonably good record on this ground. England has won 30 test matches out of 56 played on this ground. They have the advantage of playing at home and knowing the ground, conditions and pitch better.

The weather report is also not showing good signs; there won’t be full sunshine all throughout the test. The opening day will be overcast with chances of heavy showers. The second and third days have no rain forecast. The last two days will be overcast and there are chances of rain.
Bumrah Likely to Miss the Second Test

Bumrah will skip the second test and he is available for only 3 out of 5 test matches. The number 1 bowler will be missed at the venue.
Indian team will feel the pressure after trailing in the series. But with good batting line up India can challenge England on their soil. The Englishmen have shown good discipline in batting and bowling in the first game. Fans are hoping for a good competition.
