The five-week lawsuit episode comes to an end today with Paresh Rawal returning to Hera Pheri 3. In a podcast, Paresh said, “It’s all resolved now. Nothing has happened,” bringing the row to a close. Adding that makers should respect the popularity of the franchise, Rawal said, “You can’t take things for granted.”

What is the story?

Paresh Rawal was in Hera Pheri 3 and Paresh Rawal, Akshay Kumar, and Suniel Shetty had even done a publicity clip for the film. Paresh had no idea about his role. If the gossip is to be believed the screenplay was not ready at the time of the announcement. The senior actor was not pleased with all this.

After some time, Paresh announced that he was leaving the film, as the role of Baburao did not excite him anymore. As a result, Akshay Kumar’s production house, Cape Of Good Films, sent a legal notice to Paresh Rawal, claiming 25 crore as the damage to the film by his exit. 

Even Paresh Rawal returned the signing amount he had received with interest. His team replied that Paresh had not signed any agreement, and he did not have the script or the narration of his role.

Later, Paresh Rawal’s legal team replied to the notice received by Cape Of Good Films. All this drama went on for five weeks, and finally, we got the official news that Paresh Rawal is back in the film.

Was all this drama a publicity stunt?

Paresh Rawal and Akshay Kuma are seniors in the cine world. They are active since 3 decades and have done many movies together. They are said to be good friends who stay away from controversies. 

A lot of netizens feel that Paresh Rawal’s sudden return to the movie without disclosing the proper reason for leaving the film seems like a PR stunt. Even Akshay Kumar has never sent any legal notices to anyone in the industry in his career spanning 35 years. He has always maintained a clean and non-controversial image in the industry, and he will be the last person to do that to a close associate.

Whatever the reason, the film is again in the news, and any publicity is good publicity for the movie.
