Kajol’s ‘Maa’ to release on 27th June, It’s A Mythological Horror

Kajol’s mythological horror movie is set to release on 27th June 2025. The film stars Kajol, Ronit Roy, Indraneil Sengupta, Jitin Gulati and Kherin Sharma in key roles. The film is produced by Ajay Devgn and Jyoti Despande and co-produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak. ‘Maa’ is directed by Vishal Furai and written by Saiwyn Quadras.

Kajol’s First Horror Flick

In her career spanning more than 24 years, Kajol has never done a horror movie, and ‘Maa’ is her first attempt at this kind of genre. The trailer looks promising, and Kajol is at her best as ever. Kajol returns to the silver screen after a gap of three years. ‘Salaam Venky’ was released in 2022, and ‘Tanaji’ was released in the year 2020; both had Kajol as the main lead. The trailer of the movie was released on 20th May and looked promising.

The Story

As the name of the movie suggests, Kajol plays the mother’s role of a young daughter, and both go on a road trip. The trip takes an ugly turn as they come across a cursed tree with evil spirits. Kajol has a new fierce look in the movie, which is a mythological horror flick. Kajol fights with the evil forces to protect her daughter and family. Kajol shared a poster on Instagram earlier where her face is wounded, and she is against a demon with red eyes and a burned face. The tagline of the poster is ‘Rakshak, Bhakshak aur Maa.’

‘Maa’ get U/A Censor Certificate

Maa has a U/A certificate from CBFC, which means it’s suitable for viewers who are 16 and above. Parental Guidance is necessary for viewers who are 15 and below.

Movies Duration

The duration of the movie is two hours and fifteen minutes, which is considered ideal for supernatural and horror movies, so the viewers are engaged throughout the movie and don’t lose interest in the plot.

Where To Enjoy The Movie
